Skipping Rocks for Dummies

Hansen Family Reunion Entry 006
For the better part of an hour, Stacey & Uncle Kevin attempted to teach Parker how to skip rocks. They would show him how to grip it and how to throw it kind of side armed. They would even help him throw one every few tosses he made. Yet, over and over again, he grabbed the biggest, roundest rock he could find and plunked it into the water. They would try again, only to have him plunk some more (It was interesting really, to see the two parties pitted so stubbornly against one another. It wasn't surprising, but interesting to see which one would break first; student or master). Finally, Parker said, with a voice of desperate frustration, "you don't seem to understand. I am not an idiot. I already know how to skip a rock on the water. My record is 32 skips on a single throw (He might have been exaggerating on that one, but he obviously wanted them to understand his incredible skill level), but you two obviously don't know how to make a splash bigger than a raindrop with them. Now, i will show you one more time," said the master, "so pay attention!!"
